Past Projects While At CTMH

Wow! Just found this photo of a pennant frame I created over 2 years ago while at Close To My Heart as a corporate artist. "MY GIRL", Amanda!

Crush Book pages I created for the new release at CTMH corporate event way back in 2014. Taken at the event by a consultant and posted on the web.

Created By Me

Bee Happy Card- I adore the little enamel bee and it was a perfect little touch to the Pebbles floral paper. Sent this card off in the mail just two days ago to one of my sisters!
America Banner- A long time ago I figured out the perfect way to get four pennants from a sheet of 12x12 paper, so making a banner like this only takes a few sheets of really cute patterned cardstock, some doilies (pre-made or cut on a Cricut or die cut machine), stamped or cut alpha, crinkled tissue, some ribbon and the Sew Ribbon tool by We R Memory Keepers.

"You Are My Happy Place. Also, I Love You", scrapbooking layout- This was so much fun to make because it involves stamping, fussy cutting, sewing, ombre inking, distressing, and cutting an overlay with the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge. And the best part- the very adorable pic of my son and his three boys!
Bridal Memory Album- Overlays, album pages, simple and easy embellishments, a little bit of stamping and coloring, washi tape, toss in a few sequins and twine and voila! the perfect way to save the memories of the tiny, yet important details of a wedding.
Used Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge.

"Nostalgic", scrapbooking page- Quick and simple documentation of the nostalgic thoughts of seeing a couple sitting close to each other in an old car as they drove on the Interstate one day. Cute paper by Maggie Holmes, Open Book collection.

Wood Display Stand- Yup, I painted and stained the wood pieces and glued them together to make this attractive, cork on one side and chalkboard on the other side, place to make notes and pin pictures of my favorite people. Craft night at my house!!

"Props 2 U", scrapbooking layout- Here again I used the Artbooking Cricut cartridge available through CTMH. I love using a variety of artistic techniques and embellishments on a page.

"Life Is Full Of Sparkles" shadow box shaker box- My grandkids love to pick this up and shake the sequins. That always puts a smile on my face! Life is full of SPARKLES!
"Extraordinary", washi tape page- A blend of stamps and washi create the backdrop for this picture and memory of an afternoon running errands. Gotta use up some of that washi tape so I can justify buying more! How many rolls do you own? Last count I have 500+.

Grandma Day With Jayden

I try to make time for grandchildren to have a special day or a couple of hours with me. Recently Jayden and I were able to plan such a day. We went out to lunch and made crafts. I had started a project of making Valentine banners so when she saw my creative mess she wanted to make a banner of her own. This is what she came up with. I only helped a little. Way to be amazing Jayden!!

Her are two of the banners I created. I ended up making five more. All unique from the others.

This one with the old fashioned telephone ended up with a cute speech bubble saying, "Just called to say I Love You."

I was able to get a banner mailed to each of my children before I left on a spontaneous car trip to Nauvoo, Illinois with Jayden and her family. Note to self- don't EVER take that long of a car trip ever again!

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Grandpa Decker

It has been awhile since I have posted- and a loooong while since I have done anything crafty. Life gets kinda tossed upside down when the love of your life unexpectedly dies.

I have finally sat down and created a page. I redid a layout which someone had discarded. The grey cardstock back layer and the grid paper were already stitched. I tore off the elements I didn't care for and found product I had on hand to create a new page.

This photo was taken while in Wyoming last year visiting my oldest son and his family. This is My sweetheart Bruce and grandson Jonathon. The science fiction book and diet coke, as well as the suspenders are signature items of my husband. A few weeks after this visit Grandpa Decker was in a coma and passed on to another adventure.

I do not feel very artistic nor creative these days. I am trying. I hope to make 'something' each week. Kinda like therapy to reinvent myself after experiencing a disappointing 2014.

Everyday I Think Of You . . .

Everyday is a happy day.

Notice the pleated washi tape?

Two 12 x 12 page layout
I loved the soft colors of this paper line. It made for a beautiful contrast for the pink blossoms in the photos. These photos of Amanda were taken last spring (May 2013) about a week before she left to serve a full-time mission for the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latterday Saints.
The light pink and black stripe is actually washi tape which I layered and folded/pleated. I used a white gel pen to hand write and add a bit if flourish.

Feathers In A Masculine Style

My son, Chris Huntsman with his dang cute boys!

This page was so much fun to do since I tried so many fun techniques.
I water and ink washed the back ground wood paper,
then stitched and distressed the edges,
used Cricut to cut a background overlay,
which I inked with pigment inks and dauber
to achieve an ombre effect.
The same inking technique was used to achieve the
shaded hue on the 'also, I love you'.
And then more stitching right thru the middle of the phrase.
Rock-n-roll technique was used on the fussy cut flowers.
I used this same inking style on the feathers-
choosing both colonial white and kraft paper
added to the uniqueness of each feather.
Add a staple and tie on some bronze thread-
ta-DA! A page to show off four awesome guys!
